Carlo Corbinelli was born in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa (FI) in 1955. He graduated in Political Science from the “Cesare Alfieri” Faculty of the University of Florence and in Security Sciences from the University of Tor Vergata. He obtained various post-graduate degrees in the field of international relations and legislative technique.

He served for 36 years as a Carabinieri Officer, with roles and responsibilities in all sectors of competence of the force, including abroad, reaching the rank of Brigadier General.

In the reserve since March 2015, he works as a consultant for companies and business combinations, as an expert in “Security”, “Cyber ​​Crime” and training. He is a security consultant for Confesercenti Toscana. In 2020, together with digital technology experts, he founded and launched the start-up Guardia Digitale S.r.l., which deals with artificial intelligence for cyber security and information security.

He collaborates with the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Florence and with periodicals and web-magazines specialized in defense and security. Within the CSSII (Interdepartmental Center for International and Entrepreneurial Strategic Studies) of the University of Florence, he is responsible for the "Observatory for the Protection of the Economy and Enterprise".

Roles in AB AQUA

Carlo Corbinelli has been a Senior Research Fellow at AB AQUA since July 2023. In this position, he mainly deals with the management of the organization's network, helping to expand collaborations and strengthen connections between AB AQUA and international partners. Thanks to his experience, Dr. Corbinelli plays a key role in maintaining and developing relationships with academics, public and private institutions, as well as international organizations engaged in sustainable water management.
