Ludovica Saccone holds a bachelor's degree in foreign languages and cultures from the University of Roma Tre and is currently a master's degree in International Relations, a degree obtained with honors from the Libera Università Santissima Maria Assunta (Lumsa) in Rome, with a thesis entitled: "Oceans, seas and marine resources: analysis and insights into goal 14 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development".
She is a member and organizer of the Cenacolo di Studi Diplomatici e Internazionali, which, thanks to the organization of seminars and conferences regarding international relations, has given her the opportunity to moderate various events and to become passionate about environmental issues with particular interest in ecological transition and sustainability, as well as environmental law. Attention to the theme of "water" and everything it entails has always been of great importance in her university and working life and she continues to do research and write popular articles through AB AQUA. A phrase that identifies her from this point of view is: We are facing what I would call “an ocean emergency”. We must reverse course. We cannot have a healthy planet without healthy oceans, said by Antonio Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations, during the Lisbon Conference 2022.
After having spent a period of study abroad at the ICES University in France, she was the winner of the “Torno Subito 2022” call promoted by the Lazio Region, which allowed her to attend a high-level training course in Environmental Sustainability and Circular Economy, studying topics such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Cleaner Production and Leaner Production, the UNI ISO 14001 regulation relating to environmental management systems, as well as the UNI ISO 14020,14040, 74007, 19011 regulations and so on… thus having a complete picture of how waste production and reuse systems work.
Furthermore, in September (2024) she won the Premio America Giovani, which is awarded to the most talented new graduates for having distinguished themselves during their academic career. The Award consists of the awarding of a parchment during a ceremony at the Chamber of Deputies and the winning of a scholarship that allows participation in the master's degree promoted by the Fondazione Italia USA in "International Relations, Leadership and Made in Italy".
She currently works as a data analyst for the think tank Italy for Climate at the Fondazione per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile, dealing with climate and energy, promoting climate neutrality through decarbonization and the achievement of net-zero.
