Maurizio Angeloni is a highly experienced doctor, he worked for 25 years in the National Health Service as a GP, gynecologist and public health manager, taking an active interest in the study and dissemination of technologies to protect the environment.
An expert in international cooperation, both in the field of "development" and "emergencies", he has worked for 15 years with NGOs and Italian cooperation in numerous nations of the South of the world, in Africa, Asia and South America, also in theaters of conflict and in collaboration with international organizations.
Since 2009 he has been involved in "migration medicine" and, in Italy, has provided healthcare to immigrants in Emergency clinics. He has been interested in the phenomenon of female genital mutilation for years and, as an international expert, he was a consultant and representative of the Italian cooperation at the World Congress on FGM in Cairo in 2003.
He is a founding member and member of the board of directors of Doctors of the World Italy. In addition to his degree in medicine, he has a master's degree in Public Health (ISS Rome) and a master's degree in Migration Medicine (Caritas SIMM).
Role in AB AQUA
Maurizio Angeloni has been a Senior Research Fellow at AB AQUA since October 2022. In his role, he is responsible for managing the organization's network, helping to strengthen connections between AB AQUA and its counterparts at national and international levels. The Dr. Angeloni is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with academic, institutional partners and international organizations, thus supporting the expansion of collaborations and the achievement of the organization's objectives in the field of sustainable water resources management.
